BRAMPTON CUP

Boxing Saskatchewan would like to congratulate Logan Goodwill who won a silver medal in the 60Kg Junior C Open category at the Brampton Cup in Brampton, Ont. held on February 5-7. Congratulations as well to Thomas Gordon for his fine showing at the Brampton Cup. Thomas boxed in the 60Kg Junior B Open category.

Headgear Update

The official ruling concerning the wearing of headgear during a competition is: Elite Male Open Boxers will not wear headgear. Elite Male Novice Boxers, who have 10 or less bouts can choose to wear headgear as long as both boxers wear headgear. If one boxers wants to wear headgear, then both boxers must wear headgear.

Respect In Sport

All registered coaches must complete the online Respect In Sport training module. The deadline for completion of this course is April 1, 2014. Anyone who has not completed this training will not be able to coach until the Respect In Sport module has been completed! The module takes around 3 hours. Do Not Be Fooled!

Joining any of these new Associations (Fightsport Saskatchewan Inc., CombSport, WBC etc), will disqualify you from competing at Provincial Boxing Associated events, Boxing Canada events and Ringside World Championships. It will also disqualify competition against any registered Boxing Canada or Provincial Boxing Association registered athlete. AIBA, amateur boxing's international association, only will recognize one National Amateur Boxing Association per country. PLEASE BE CAREFUL!
