Building the Future of Our Sport
Investing in women and girls is an investment in the future of boxing. Although the sport has traditionally been male-dominated, expanding opportunities for women and girls to participate, lead, and succeed strengthens our entire boxing community.
Representation Matters
When young athletes see women coaching, officiating, and leading, it sends a powerful message:
boxing is a place where they belong. It also reinforces that our clubs are environments built on
safety, mentorship, and respect.
Women Leading the Way in Saskatchewan
Jessica Caverly – Athlete, Educator, Board Member
We are proud to welcome Jessica Caverly, athlete and school teacher, to the Boxing Saskatchewan Board of Directors. Her experience, leadership, and commitment to youth development will help strengthen our organization and support the growth of boxing across the province.
Lisa Miller – Official, Non-Profit Leader, National Voice
We also recognize Lisa Miller, official and non-profit leader, who represents Western Canada and was recently appointed Vice President of Boxing Canada. Her dedication and leadership continue to shape the boxing landscape nationally while inspiring the next generation of women in the sport.
Our Commitment to Growth
As we continue to grow the sport, Boxing Saskatchewan acknowledges that more work is needed to support the development of women and girls in boxing. While female participation has always been welcomed at every level, we recognize the importance of creating clear pathways for advancement — whether as athletes, coaches, officials, or leaders.
- We are committed to:
- Supporting female leadership
- Strengthening development pathways
- Building an inclusive provincial boxing community
By taking these steps, we aim to inspire more women and girls to discover all that boxing has to offer.
