Planning Workshop

Boxing Saskatchewan will be hosting a PLANNING WORKSHOP open to all registered members of Boxing Saskatchewan.

DATE: Saturday, October 30, 2010

PLACE: Davidson Town Office, Davidson, Sk.

TIME: 10:00 a.m. Lunch will be served

FACILITATOR: Bruce Anderson of b-creative group.

The purpose of this workshop is to provide a Strategic Plan for Boxing Saskatchewan for

the next four years - 2012 to 2015 and your participation is requested.

This Strategic Plan forms a necessary component of our Sport Profile for our funding over the next 4 years.

An agenda will be forwarded to you at a later date.

Boxing Saskatchewan will pay transportation expenses, one vehicle per club, at current Boxing Saskatchewan rates. To qualify for expenses you must have confirmed your attendance by October 17, 2010.

 

NEW RULES


Rule Changes Regarding Weight Changes and Rounds goes in to effect Sept. 1, 2010

The AIBA Executive Committee adopted changes to the AIBA Technical and Competition Rules at its meeting in Xiamen, China. The changes were made to increase the safety and protection of boxers.


Below is a summary of the modifications to the AIBA Technical and Competition Rules:

Weight Classification:

Elite & Youth Boxers:

Male - 10 weight classifications

46kg - 49kg, 52kg, 56kg, 60kg, 64kg, 69kg, 75kg, 81kg, 91kg, 91+kg

Elite & Youth Boxers:

Female - 10 weight classifications

45kg - 48kg, 51kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 64kg, 69kg, 75kg, 81kg, 81+kg

As previously announced, three weight divisions have been fixed for Women's Boxing at the 2012 Olympic Games: 48-51kg, 57-60kg, 69-75kg

Duration and number of rounds:

Elite & Youth Male - 3 rounds of 3 minutes each

Elite & Youth Female - 4 rounds of 2 minutes each

Junior Male & Female - 3 rounds of 2 minutes each

For all above, the rest time between rounds is one (1) minute.
